The Long Beach Big Band (LBBB) is comprised of Long Beach area professional musicians. The group was originally created in the fall of 2023 as a reading/rehearsal band, but has gone on to gigging steadily at local venues since 2024. The repertoire leans more toward the challenging, modern, original, and off-the beaten track (think along of the lines of Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer, and beyond). In other words, we like dissonance, but we also like to have a good time! The group is co-led by Michael Zilber and Pat Sheng.
